Description
It took me many different failed iterations to figure out what I was actually going for and attempting to accomplish with this piece. I finally came to the realization that I wanted to explore the dichotomy between order and chaos by merging harmony and bedlam together in one piece. The perfection of the pattern is disrupted by the pandemonium of the (seemingly) random colors and hues exploding. It's a visual representation of today's world, in a way. It's slightly Mondrian-inspired in that though it seems random at first glance, each individual color and plane is in fact quite deliberately placed. I used my own scratch-made geometric pattern (which was created by placing many circles in a 360 degree roulette curve). Then I took great care with the palette to choose the right harmonious colors - and no less than 11 hues of each, for a total of 44 tones - which I meticulously arranged (and re-arranged many times over) to place each individual colored tile. So perhaps it's not as chaotic as originally intended? I call this design "Peacock," and I hope you enjoy it in all of its multiple variants, with sizes up to a huge 30x30"!
