Ahh, The Beatles ... what can I say about these lads that hasn't already been said, written, sung, screamed, or argued over? I'm one of those guys who when asked who my favorite band is, I just basically leave out The Beatles and start talking about my number two. Because The Beatles are just a given. The be all, end all. The Truth. The undisputed rock band G.O.A.T. Of course I am well aware not everyone feels that way, but I'm also one of those guys who thinks it's ridiculous and hilarious whenever someone says or even hints that The Beatles are overrated, or in any way not as good or important as everyone thinks. If anything, they're underrated. No one in the history of the world did as much for music - one might even say for modern culture as a whole - in such a short, compacted time than the Fab Four. But if you're reading this, I'm probably preaching to the choir, so what is my point? Simply that they very much deserve the Mod Pop Art treatment, and they've finally gotten it. I got a little weird and went all Yellow Submarine/pop-surrealism/unknown planet/who knows what else with this one, because I figure if you're gonna make artwork featuring these Liverpudlians who've been immortalized in art maybe more than anyone in modern popular culture, you'd better do something that hasn't been done before. So here it is, my first, but definitely not my last tribute to Paul, George, Ringo, and John (listed in order of appearance) ... I hope you enjoy "Day Tripper"!
